number is shown and then, using radzap yo.u can delete the user

Yes,
The > is interpretted as a shell redirection character. But thats not your
only problem, you do have to specify the correct port number, not just
>999. By default there isnt enough room to show it. But if you run radwho
with the -n option (which hides full names) it should display the full port
number.
